THAT IS THEE QUESTION!!

So bunge halitorushwa live Bali litakuwa recorded by TBC na kurushwa usiku,,
All this kupunguza matumizi ndivyo nilivyoelewa ila ntarudi kufafanua zaidi,,

I think it is a shame for Tanzania. After spending almost two decades trying to open up government, these signs of regression towards an authoritarian rule are anything but a welcome development. The executive can not grow stronger by repressing other arms of government. Ndugu JPM may have good intentions for this country but these kinds of things point towards a lack of appreciation of the context we are operating in. One only yields more resistance from repression and that has never been otherwise. Tusije kufanya "Hapakazitu" tukajikuta tumebaki na kazi zetu tu ilihali tukitambua sio kazi zetu zilizotupigia kura. While others have already gone as far as establishing a dedicated "Bunge" channel, we are talking of limiting viewership of the August house just a week after a newspaper is banned and several TV and radio stations faced a potential ban!!!! I'm not sure the Honorable Minister recalls that the TBC budget was approved by the exact same Bunge that he is restricting viewership on!!!! In the worst case scenario I would expect the Bunge committee to review the spending/revenue gap of TBC and propose means to curtail it. Until that happens the Minister's statement is unfortunately a farce to say the least. In many ways it sounds like a serious violation of our right to know and a really unnecessary battle to be picked by a government that only a few days ago was riding high on approval rates. Mungu ibariki Tanzania 🙏🏼
