I am confused at the level of misplaced priorities that we as a nation are facing. I am saddened by the fact that 2 stories have got so much attention. What is more baffling is the fact that the media have also given these stories more and more air time. 1. The bill addressing how officials are to be addressed. - Really my fellow kenyans do we not have more pressing and tangible issues facing us as a nation that we need to give such mundane matters so much importance? Do we not have issues like poverty, insecurity, corruption, the list goes on and on, to deal with? 2. The lady officer wearing a tight skirt. - Honestly people how is this so important that it reached the point to which she was reprimanded? Are we so lacking in focus and foresight that we let such a thing become an issue to be discussed on or radio stations and printed in our newspapers?
I really think our politicians, leaders and ourselves as a nation need to take a step back and re-evaluate what we deem to be worthy of our attention as there will be a time when we as a nation will be the punch line of every joke, we are indeed in the 21st century yet our priorities are deeply rooted in the stone ages.
